In celebration of the newly-designated Travel and Tourism Week, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper stated that the travel and tourism industry supported over 225,000 jobs in the state and visitors to the state spent more than $23.9 billion in 2017.

How do you feel about your educational experience at Cameron School of Business?

I enjoyed every part of my experience at UNCW and at CSB; the instructors at CSB were probably my favorite part...I felt instructors were informative, challenging, yet, “down to earth.” I could tell many of them had a passion for teaching and my learnings at CSB have transitioned well to the success in my professional career. P.S. -  I heard they made a mandatory “shoes, or at least flip flop and shirt” rule in recent years?  That was cool when they didn’t have that rule...but I understand.

Susan Hermanson and Thomas Janicki, professors in the UNCW Cameron School of Business, are the recipients of distinguished professorships.

Hermanson has been appointed to a five-year term as the Cameron Distinguished Professor of Accountancy. Janicki has been reappointed for another five-year term as the Duke Energy/Gordon C. Hurlbert Distinguished Professor of Information Systems.

Laura Lunsford Joins Swain Center as New Director

“I can’t wait to meet local business leaders as well as Cameron and Swain alumni, students and friends,” says Laura Gail Lunsford, the incoming director of the Swain Center. “The potential to build on the current programming at Swain, to develop our region’s and our state’s next generation of business leaders, is exciting.” For Lunsford,  it was irresistible to be able to return to her home state and especially to Wilmington, which she noted is being touted as “the next big thing” and earning designations like “America’s Best Riverfront,” “Best Place to Launch a Business,” and one of the “100 Best Arts Towns.”
